Dear Someday (maybe) Husband,

I'm not sure about marriage. I'm not even sure about relationships - in general - at this point.

It may seem über cliche, but I've seen so many failures (and so many unsuccessful try's) that it just doesn't seem to be worth it. Is it the paper that binds your lives and changes everything? Is it just that it's not meant to be?

If you promise to love me - and keep the sparkle going for me - I'll promise you this -

* I'll always open your beer before handing it to you.

*I'll rub your back absentmindedly while we're waiting for something.

*When we're sitting close, I'll run my fingers through your hair.

*I'll look in your eyes when we talk.

*I'll always text back.

*I'll let you have the remote. (most days, unless I'm feeling needy and then you should put on music and just sit with me)

*I promise to not compare you to other men in my life.

*I promise to love your mom (that doesn't mean we'll talk daily, but I'll try)

*I can't promise anything as far as my family goes, and you'll understand when you meet them but I promise that it will ALWAYS be interesting.

*I promise to have girls night - and no, you won't be invited for at least 15 years.

*I promise to always love myself and take care of the woman that you love.

*I promise to get you great birthday and Christmas gifts.

*I promise to not expect great gifts from you, but will be pleasantly surprised - every time.

*I promise to try. And try harder.

*I promise that we'll fight.

*And I promise to feel bad if it's my fault, and make it up to you.

*I promise to love you. With all of my heart. for always.
